How does Invisalign treatment work?

Unlike traditional braces that use metal brackets, bands, and wires, Invisalign treatment uses clear plastic teeth aligners to straighten your teeth. You simply slide the aligners over your teeth and wear them for at least 22 hours a day. You can freely remove your aligners for eating or brushing, so long as you put them back in when you’re done.

Are Invisalign aligners visible?

Barely. Unlike classic braces made of stark metal brackets and wires, these modern orthodontic aligners are made of a smooth, comfortable, clear plastic that is virtually invisible. This means you won’t draw any unwanted attention to your orthodontic care, and there won’t be any awkward questions or stares from onlookers during your months of treatment.

When will I see results from Invisalign treatment?

Unlike traditional braces that force you to wear metal brackets and wires for two or three long years, Invisalign clear aligners can deliver amazing results in months – usually about 12 months. Obviously, it is different for everyone, but the sooner you get started on your transformative journey, the sooner you will get to enjoy that stunningly straight smile.

Is Invisalign treatment painful?

Your Invisalign aligners will be comfortable because they don’t contain any metal or pointed edges that can irritate sensitive areas in your mouth. Most of our patients report little or no trouble getting used to the aligners. They will fit snugly over your teeth and gently shift them into their ideal positions.

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

On average, Invisalign treatment takes an average of 12 months. Your exact length of treatment will depend on your unique situation. Once we’ve had a chance to examine your teeth and work up a treatment plan at a free consultation, we can give you a better idea of how long your treatment will take. We’ll make sure you know what to expect before your orthodontic care begins.

How much does Invisalign treatment cost?

It is difficult to put a price on Invisalign treatment without performing an exam and taking a set of digital images. Once we have assessed your individual situation, we can give you an accurate estimate of your Invisalign care. We do offer third-party financing options through Cherry to make it easier to obtain treatment.

Are Invisalign aligners removable?

One of the features of Invisalign aligners that our patients love most is that the clear plastic teeth aligners are removable at any time. It’s simple to pop out the aligners for eating or brushing. Just put them back in when you’re done, and make sure you wear them for at least 22 hours a day during your treatment.

Why is Invisalign treatment faster than braces?

Treatment with Invisalign aligners is shorter largely due to the way it moves your teeth. Unlike conventional metal braces, which work by moving each tooth individually, your Invisalign aligners provide gentle force that moves all your teeth simultaneously. Most Invisalign patients are able to complete their treatment within 12 months.

Who are Invisalign aligners suitable for?

We typically recommend Invisalign treatment for anyone who would like to improve the alignment of their teeth. We may even suggest Invisalign treatment for young children using Invisalign First. Even very complex cases can be handled with Invisalign aligners, especially in the hands of our expertly trained doctor.

Are Invisalign treatment results permanent?

As with any orthodontic treatment, your teeth can shift out of place unless you wear a retainer. Your last set of aligners can be used as a temporary retainer until we determine the right kind of appliance for you. You’ll typically wear a retainer at night. For the best long-term results, you will continue wearing it overnight for as long as you would like to maintain your results.
